Welcome to the world, Little Story Feast!

We are so proud of our latest addition,

Little Story Feast on 21 September 2025,
in partnership with the
British Library!
It's a
FREE family day of interactive fun with ESEA authors and illustrators! Dumplings, animal adventures, portals to other worlds, character fun – bookings open at the British Library website on 23 July!

On the 50th anniversary of the fall of Saigon

This year marks the end of the American War in Vietnam and we are proud to highlight the British Vietnamese literary community in both our Story Feast and Little Story Feast festivals.

Among our speakers of Vietnamese heritage are film-maker Chi Thai, who has published her first picture book The Endless Sea, gorgeously illustrated by Linh Dao, based on Chi’s own childhood experience on a refugee boat.

Appearing in Story Feast at SOAS is Chi Thai’s close collaborator, art director Nghiem Ta who also arrived in the UK as a boat refugee.

Loan Tran is a memoirist whose father was part of the BBC World Service team that covered the end of the war. Delivering a keynote is actress, playwright and novelist Tuyền Đỗ, whose play Summer Rolls was the first British Vietnamese play to be staged in the UK, the novel of which has been published by Hachette.

OUR STORY

This is the home of Story Feast and Little Story Feast Literary Festivals!

Yes we used to be called the ESEA Authors Litfest (you can check out the two previous litfests on the navigation bar) but we  decided it was time for a new name that would differentiate us from all the wonderful ESEA events that happen during ESEA Heritage Month in September.

We have so many exciting plans! You can download our brochure (pictured) introducing our renamed festival  Story Feast, still kindly hosted by SOAS . . . and we're launching a kidlit festival Little Story Feast – in an exciting new partnership with the British Library!

Watch out for more news coming soon!
